🧠Just Three Questions… But They Might Mess With Your Head
Â
So the other day, I came across this tiny test. Just three questions. That’s it.
And guess what? I got one of them wrong. On the first try.
And I’m usually the “logical friend” in the group. Yeah… awkward.
Â
Anyway, I figured I’d share it here and see if it trips you up too.
Â
No pressure. Just a bit of brain teasing fun. Ready?

🌿 Question 3:
Â
There’s a patch of lily pads on a lake.
Every day, the patch doubles in size.
If it takes 48 days to fully cover the lake,
when was it only half-covered?
Â
This one gets people. Almost every time.

✍️ Answers (and the parts where people usually mess up):
Â
1. The ball is 5 cents.
Most folks say 10 cents right off the bat (no pun intended).
But then the bat would be $1.10, and that totals $1.20 — too much.
So: ball = $0.05, bat = $1.05. Now it adds up: $1.10.
Â
2. Still just 5 minutes
If five machines can do five jobs in five minutes then each machine does 1 job in that time.
So 100 machines all working at once Still 5 minutes Just more hands on deck.
Â
3. Day 47.
It doubles every day. So the lake is fully covered one Day 48…
That means it was half-covered the day before. Day 47.
