Brendan Taylor’s story begins in North Vancouver
where as a shy child he found refuge in acting and storytelling He spent hours imagining himself as different characters whether from comics or movies This early spark never went out and it steered him toward theatre and later into the world of film
Learning the Ropes Behind the Camera
After high school Brendan studied at UBC
spent a year in Paris on exchange He found his footing after college when he joined the world of set decoration He worked on projects like The Wicker Man Battlestar Galactica and The Killing accumulating more than fifty credits in roles like lead dresser and production designer
Stepping Into the Spotlight
Eventually Brendan began shifting in front of the camera He took roles on shows like Supernatural The Magicians Arrow and Bates Motel He also starred in films like Mermaid’s Song and appeared in Hallmark and Netflix features including Love Guaranteed and Firefly Lane
An Actor Rooted in Real Life
Brendan talks about growing up with family in the film industry and how that shaped him He credits his mom her work in the art department and his uncle for giving him early exposure On a film set he even ran a mobile car wash for fun as a kid He also speaks fondly of his love for travel languages cars mechanics and golf all of which ground him in everyday life
