In August 2020 Karachi witnessed one of the worst floods in its recent history. Torrential monsoon rains left the city submerged paralyzed life for millions and exposed the fragility of urban infrastructure in Pakistanโs largest metropolis.

Between August 24 and August 27 Karachi received record breaking rainfall. On August 27 alone the city recorded over 230mm of rain the highest single day rainfall in 89 years. Streets turned into rivers vehicles were washed away homes were flooded and the city came to a complete halt.
