Ingredients:

Step 1:

  • Aromatics and proteinsOne pound (450 grammes)
  • of ground beef (plant-based meat or ground turkey can be used in its place)
  • One little yellow onion, choppedTwo minced garlic clovesOne packet of taco seasoning (about two tablespoons)

Step 2:

  • Homemade mix is optional.One teaspoon of chilli powderHalf a teaspoon of cuminHalf a teaspoon of paprika
  • Half a teaspoon of onion powderHalf a teaspoon of powdered garlicHalf a teaspoon of oreganoA pinch of cayenne (optional)To taste,
  • add salt and pepper.Base and Liquids.

Step 3:

  • 2 cups beef broth (vegetable or chicken broth can be substituted)Diced tomatoes (with liquids) from one 14.5-ounce
  • One cup of salsa, depending on how spicy you want itPasta: 8 ounces, or roughly 2ยฝ cups short pasta (such as elbow macaroni, penne, shells, or rotini)

Step 4:

  • Reduce the heatRaise the heat until the mixture gently boils.After boiling, lower the heat to medium-low.Put a lid on the saucepan and let it simmer for 12 to 15 minutes.
  • To make sure the pasta cooks evenly and doesn’t stick to the bottom, stir it occasionally.
  • Cook until most of the liquid has been absorbed and the pasta is soft.
  • Make it creamy in step five.Turn the heat down to low after the pasta is cooked.Add the cheese shreds and stir until melted and dispersed evenly.

Step 5:

  • Add the sour cream and stir until the sauce thickens and becomes creamy.
  • If you want heat, add a dash of hot sauce or additional salt and pepper to taste and adjust the seasoning.

Step 6:

  • Present and Garnish
