Why Saeed Ajmal is Retreated

Saeed Ajmal used to be the most feared spinners in the world. Between 2009-14 he was the King of cricketing world with his murderous doosras and off-spin. However, his career was cut short before people thought it would because of his legendary performances. Then, why has Saeed Ajmal retired?

The largest of them was the prohibition of his bowling action. His action was noted to be illegal in 2014 by the ICC. It was verified that the arm was bending beyond the required limit after tests were conducted. This marked his breakthrough in his career. He needed to have a total transformation or switch to his action.

Ajmal tried and all but came back with a new action and it did not do much justice that. The deliveries that used to stump the top batsmen no longer had any sting. He could not handle it in abroad games and could not be that match winner that he used to be

Frustrated and honest about his form he decided to retire in November 2017. He said in interviews that he didn’t want to continue just for the sake of it. He believed in leaving with pride rather than holding on when he couldn’t perform like before.

He retired and concentrated on coaching and nurturing young talents. He opened up the Saeed Ajmal International Cricket Academy where he is currently training the youth on how to become a professional spin bowler and a prospective star.
