ย Caprio Now

Though he is no longer with us, Judgeโ€ฏCaprioโ€™s spirit continues to live on through the kindness he brought to others and the lessons he taught us.

I remember tuning into Caught in Providence

his show wasnโ€™t about drama but about people. He had this rare warmth that invited empathy, whether he was dismissing a ticket or offering words of comfort. That legacy of compassion means countless viewers worldwide still smile when they recall his courtroom.

But he wasnโ€™t always frank in the spotlight.

Born in 1936, he taught, served in the National Guard, and quietly rose through the legal ranks before becoming Chief Judge of Providence Municipal Court in 1985. He held that role until retiring in 2023, when the courtroom was renamed in his honor.ย

In late 2023, Frank Caprio revealed

he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancerโ€”and he did so with humility. He asked people to remember him in their prayersโ€”a request that sparked an outpouring of love, often from complete strangers.ย

But just months later

he celebrated a major victory: he completed radiation treatment and rang the bell of healing, a true milestone. Family, fans, and medical teams stood by him every step of the way.ย

Sadly, in August 2025

he experienced a health setback and returned to the hospital. In a final, heartfelt post, he asked again for our prayers. The next day, at age 88, he passed away peacefully.ย

Judge frank Caprio leaves behind a large,

loving familyโ€”his wife Joyce of 60 years, five children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildrenโ€”as well as a global community inspired by his compassion.ย

Letโ€™s remember him not just as a judge, but as someone who judged with a heart.
