Introduction

Shahid Afridi then transformed the game smashing 59 off 25 balls reaching a fifty in 18 balls and striking seven sixes producing the decisive surge when 102 were still needed from 52 deliveries. 

 

Pakistan completed the chase at 329 for 7 with one ball left sealing a three wicket victory that booked a place in the final and stands as one of their great ODI pursuits. 

 

Afridi earned player of the match honors and the contest is still cited for multiple Bangladesh top order fifties and the rare spectacle of sustained clean hitting under pressure.
