🛑 The Diagnosis That Changed Everything

0-2In late 2014, Avril began feeling painfully weak—“I could barely eat… I felt like I was dying,” she later shared  . 612-0After months of doctor visits, misdiagnoses like chronic fatigue syndrome, and even doubt of depression, a friend suggested Lyme. Connecting with Yolanda Hadid, another survivor, led Avril to a Lyme specialist—and finally, a real answer  .

⚕️ Treatment Was Stepped and Intensive

Once diagnosed, Avril’s path to healing included:

887-1A multidrug antibiotic regimen, combining antibiotics with antimalarial medications to tackle the bacteria’s cystic forms  .

1150-0Close medical supervision: halfway through, she told Good Morning America she was “doing a lot better” and on track for full recovery  .

Combined with rest and family support, this treatment helped shift the tide.

🛌 Recovery: From Bedridden to Bereft of Energy
